Law Enforcement Training

The goal of Nortex RPC is to provide enough in-region courses that it will not be necessary for agencies to send their law enforcement officers, detention personnel, & telecommunicators out-of-region for training. This training is mandated by the Texas Commission of Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Education (TCLEOSE).

Wildland Firefighter Training
The Wildland fire training provided through Nortex RPC is based on National Wildfire Coordination Group (NWCG) curriculum.

This is a national standard that is adaptable to the local area and can build upon itself over time. This will ensure that firefighters are all trained the same standards; use the same terminology and allows firefighters to wokk toward certifications just like the structural side of firefighting.

This training is provided with the cooperation of the Texas Wildfire Association.

Structural Firefighter Training
The State Firemen's and Fire Marshall’s Association is the certification arm for the volunteer firefighters in the state. The SFFMA mirrors the Texas Commission on Fire Protection standards for certification and training objectives. The Advanced SFFMA is the same as a TXCFP basic. The use of this standard allows firefighters to be trained to the same level and gives the volunteers a chance to advance their certification over time. SFFMA is an objective based curriculum that is broken up into 31 sections of training on the basic, intermediate and advanced level.
