About Us
The Homeland Security Department of Nortex Regional Planning Commission was created to provide assistance and support to local governments and first responders by coordinating regional strategies that enhance security and preparedness. This is accomplished by assisting local professionals in the development and enhancement of plans to effectively respond to disaster, man-made or natural. Also, by facilitating activities to ensure the maximum amount of state and federal homeland security funds are directed to the region to harden local critical infrastructure and protect the residents of the region. The department also serves as a liaison with state officials regarding emergency planning and mutual aid.
